Dashboard Confessions - Tell us your Secrets!

January 20, 2008

Twice a month on Car&Caboodle we'll be asking you to tell us some of your deepest darkest car-related secrets. Whether it's getting caught in a compromising position (finger up nose), or the calcified french fry that your toddler found under the mat (and ate!) we want to know. If your wheels could talk they'd tell us what show tunes you were belting out when you rolled out of the garage this morning.

Which brings us to this week's topic:

Have you ever lost your car in a big parking lot? Got any tricks to help you remember where you left it?

Tell us all about it by emailing Dashboard Confessions or by leaving a comment in the comments section. Please note that amusing answers will be posted on the site. In the future there may be prizes for the emails that make us snort our coffee. Emails may be edited for brevity.

Yes, I have "lost" my car. And I swore my car was stolen and panicked at the thought of being stranded at Columbia Mall (even though it does have a Nordstrom and a Cheesecake Factory, I still wanted to go home eventually). It seriously freaked me out so bad that I did not hit that mall for a year! DH still teases me about my freak-out that day.

With my brain cell decrease since I have had the twins, on top of my husband being deployed, I do it regularly. And it always happens when I have the twins with me, I am so frazzled getting them out of the car, I don't pay any attention to where I parked. The most recent was at the mall, it started snowing while we were inside and of course when I finally found my car, I was one row over, Of course, they have the concrete bars on the ground in addition to the poles with a yellow chain only seperating those thoseT aisles only. With my double side by side stroller, I cannot fit between two cars much less maneuver under the chain. So I had to walk ALL the way back to the start of the aisle, all the way around and down to the end where my car was. Then to strap in two toddlers arching and kicking. OMG. When my daughter was little I did it once in a parking garage with 5 levels. I must have gone up and down the elevator 10 times and stopped at every level at least twice before figuring out where I was parked!
