Xtracycle for an Extra Special Mom
Have a looksee at this Xtracycle bike that can get in a workout while taking the kids to school, doing the family grocery shopping and helping save the environment.
That's a Mommy bike if I ever saw one. Sure Dads will want one too, but they will have to get in line. Note the image gallery on the Xtracycle site, showing dudes having all kinds of wacky fun on these rides. I guess that is allowed. As long as someone gets the groceries bought and the kids to school.
Yes we're all about cars, but we're about life on the move with family. And saving gas money. We love this bike!

I just got mine! And yes I biked both kids to drop off my daughter at preschool this morning. And I was able to load up at the farmers market and take it all home. The side bags hold a ton. Now I have to say 1) it helps to live in an area that's pretty flat (thank you Baltimore for being close to the water and therefore pretty nice and flat) and 2) it is a FANtastic way to squeeze in some exercise without having to go to the gym. It fits in with my daily schedule without having to "plan" around my exercise. Oh and one more thing...since it's larger than other bikes and (at least with the xtracycle on my Townie) you sit up higher than most cars, it gets noticed—which is safer for the road.Posted by: Jen | May 15, 2008 5:21 PM
