Sony Gives Children Something to Smile About

August 5, 2008

I was amazed by Sony  when they came out with the Cybershot, which is capable of recognizing a child's smile. Their CyberShot Camera with Smile Recognition Technology is the perfect mom camera - user friendly, compact enough to carry in your handbag, and capable of producing beautiful high quality photos.

But now Sony has gone a step further and has impressed me. Sony has taken their smile recognition technology and in a flash of brilliance, they have partnered with Operation Smile  this month to give some needy kids a real reason to flash their grins. They announced earlier this week that they were donating $100,000 to the charity that provides free exams and surgery to children born with cleft lip and palate. Sony is also donating Cybershot cameras to over 30  Operation Smile mission sites worldwide.
